Helllloooo! (echo, echo, echo).

Missing you guys. Are there no new horror stories, celebrations, brags or otherwise?

I feel like you all went on vacation and I'm not getting my daily NN fix.

Jeanne, no idiotic customers lately?

No funny puppy antics to relate, anyone?

Surely something must be happening.

Of course nothing interesting is going on at my house, so I have to live vicariously through your stories.

But just to get the ball rolling, Spirit is doing as well as I can expect. He's now decided that it's easier for me to hoist him off the floor, than to get up himself (regardless of the type of flooring). Except, of course, when someone comes to visit, or I make a sandwich and go eat on the sofa. Then he gets up just fine without my assistance. But at his age I have no problem catering to his whims. He can do whatever he likes and have everything his way and I'm happy to be his slave.

And he constantly makes me proud to be his Mom. He is better behaved (with no formal training) than any other dog I've ever had (with lots of formal training). It's like we have a special telepathy going. He just senses what he's supposed to do and does it. Or is it the other way around...hmmmm. I have to think about this one.

Nothing really to report here...
Bobby is still limping just the same as he has been for three months now. No better, no worse.
Vet still wants MRI which I don't have $1200 for and really don't want to put him under enesthesia for either.
He is currently on a series of Adequan injections. Otherwise he is eating and playing and growing like a normal pup.

I only "float in" sometimes..........

I am busy with training. having a young dog that loves it and wants more.

And still helping others of course.

Also our Water season has started so we are on the lake... I have lots of videos on FB, of just having fun with dogs. I lost the will to post here.... it was just too difficult. And without pictures of my gang of five I am lost...

Our Annabelle is still doing great, running around madly at 10.5 years old. Tessa is 12 and still the most amazing worker and a great teacher for Urshie.

Katy has done so well after her total paralysis a year ago and is moving well and even running and playing.

Our last Rescue, Harry loves people and is much better with other dogs as long as they are polite dogs and not rude.... But he is so amazing with people, especially kids, that he has a special place.

Urshie is just a joy......Pure joy, I still miss he Big sister , but she has given us so much laughter and joy... great dog to train, loves it.

Not sure if you guys know, but our Lukey just passed away during his sleep.... such a peaceful way to go, still sad, but if you have a choice it has to be the best.....he was a great friend and loved.

I miss the old NN, where we all posted lots of pics and had discussions... I still "meet" a lot of the people on FB, so that is where I am mostly now if I want to talk dog/newf.

I am in a lot of training Groups and I love that

Miss you guys though

So nice to hear from you guys...you were so important to me when I got our first newf Dexter...and still important when I need real answers...so please don't go away...this is the 1st place I go when I need help...

I check NN everyday! I wish it was easier to post photos. Sophia Newf is almost 3 and I think just had her final growth spurt. She's a sweet silly girl who wants affection when she wants it. If DH is sitting in his chair by the fireplace and she wants attention she will stand on the raised hearth (which we refer to as our dog shelf - we never use the fireplace) and lean her head down the arm of the chair pathetically.

Jane, I think sadly that most people go to facebook these days. Here I check in daily, so many times I'm the only person here!!

It is weird for me that now I have 2 young Newfs and no oldies, for so many years there was always one oldie at least. Now I'm oldie with 2 youngies lol.

Mo, although calmed down still at 5 years has moments of behavioural problems.

Splash on the other hand, has been busy since he stepped off the plane last November. His first year swimming has gone well and he does all the WD exercises except "take a line to a stranger" needs attention.
He is in a Rally beginner and a CD Trials practice class and hope to enter trials next April.

Hopefully getting ready to move once we sell our house.
We want a big garden and l am never going to move ever again after this.

Raven is still having ear issues so trying to work through it.

I also wish it was easier to post photos as well.

I check in from time to time. Elvis is 9.5 and struggling with arthritis in his back left leg. It breaks my heart when I think about how much he's slowing down, but I do think we have him on adequate pain control. Our daughter is now 2.5 and we have another one arriving in March - I'm not sure how Elvis will handle two little girls but am excited to watch!

It's so nice to open NN and find posts! Thanks you guys. I agree that FB has stolen our thunder. So sad. But at least I know you guys still come here. I often think about all the dogs and people I "know" from NN and wonder how they're doing.

I have been checking in, too. It's hard, being now Newfless, to deal with my situation. We are at that age where downsizing is a must, and we have a large house to deal with that we've lived in for 27 years. So much stuff. Suspect that where we go from here will be too small for a Newf, and probably no yard, but I love seeing the pictures and hearing about the antics. It reminds me of my girls and how much I miss them. Who knows, when we land somewhere maybe i will be able to do it one more time, if I'm near one of my sons, and am planning on a rescue, if I'm lucky. BTW, you will notice I just don't have the heart to change my avatar.

I'm sure Elvis will do just fine with 2 girls to look after. Photos would be nice :)

Hey all, (?old timer here)
I also don't check in as much as I used to but still use NN for a valuable resource and appreciate it being here. (GAD please know this!!!) I will NEVER change my avatar pic as I have no idea how to, lol. Although, I like the thought of it being my beloved Rocky. :) I have enjoyed the updates from everyone and yes FB has definitely taken over the world. NN is like an old friend though.

Stay tuned for some exciting news in our household soon.....:)

Thank you all. I don't feel so much like an grumpy old dog lady by keeping Moonlight's picture (silly as it is) right there all the time. I do miss her so, even though we have Daisy. Thing is, Daisy needs a Moonlight around. We've had her a year now. She's a rescue and had been in three shelters. Still has not learned to play with anything. Kind of sad.
