FOUR Newfie puppies in NC

Hank and Scarlett, on that Shelter's Pet List both look like possible newfie mixes, although Hank is listed as "border collie mix".

Scarlett:

Hank:

There are several pups, two look landseer.

There is a 7 year old Male Landseer who looks like he could be pure newf, named Oreo.

Buddy is in there as a Flat Coated Retriever. I don't know anything about that breed, but it's worth checking on him, too:

Has the rescue group in that area checked out any of these dogs??

I just emailed the Southeastern Newf Rescue to alert them, in case they weren't aware.

I think this falls under SENC rescue. Buddy looks like maybe a retreiver-Newf (??) mix - head seems a little big for a retreiver & tail looks bushy. Oreo is a cutie. My southern belles came from NC...

I am not too far from there. I would love to get the landseer female. I can't possibly get them all out without some assistance. Anyone else here in NC able to help, or know any more about the babies?
I will help with transport should the need arise.

I am going Sunday to try to get Minnie. Anyone else have one they would like for me to pick up? Again I can't get them all with out some help. But I will do what I can.
I sent my sister (with whom I live) a picture of the puppies. She asked if I'd called the shelter yet. She is SO newfed!

What about Scarlett? If you look at her picture on Petfinder closer it looks like maybe she had pups? Maybe the pups are hers? Hopefully Rescue will get her, Oreo and the pups out.

Good morning everyone,

We )SENC Rescue, Inc) are bringing in Scarlett (dam), Oreo (sire) and all 5 of the 11-week old pups. The shelter called me on Thursday afternoon and stated that they had 'broke' with an upper respiratory issue so we have been scrambling to make arrangments to get them out of there. The transport takes place today - holidays be danged!

Since they will all have to be quarantined for 10 to 14 days, I will be keeping them here with me. They will be staying in my barn lounge; it's like a small effiency apartment with all of the comforts of home...right down to the air conditioning. I called on some 'horse people' friends of mine yesterday and we spent the afternoon building a playpen for this group. It's 35' wide by 50' long and the only way to get to it is through the lounge...no chance of someone leaving a gate open. They also helped me 'puppy proof' the place but I'm sure one of the little buggers will find something and bring it to my attention. ;-) It's going to be quite lively here but I get 'puppy breath' as an added bonus.

On a more serious note, this will bring our numbers up to 12 that are currently in the system. From Jan to the end of June we took in 17 Newfs! I think all of the rescues are being bombarded right now.

Anyway, I will try and post some pictures, or at least a link to pictures, of this gang as soon as I get them in and settled.

One more thing...a big THANK YOU to everyone that e-mailed about these dogs. I just haven't had the time to respond privately to each and every one.

Deb...THANK YOU for all that your group is doing. I'm thinking that some NN'ers may be willing to be foster families to some of these, if needed (not me this time, but I'm sure a couple of others would step up). Also, is there a wish list of things rescue needs, or a donation link where we can PayPal some funds to the rescue group?

Yes, I saw this poor wee girl. Has anyone had experience with wry mouth? I am not close enough to Langley in order to be close to the vet that is taking her case. Hopefully someone will be able to the time and extra care needed for this girl.
Thanks Angela.:kgo_027:

Aw, Destiny is adorable...I wonder what special needs she will have, other than maybe soft food? Is it just me or is there something a bit strange about her eyes, too? It says she is otherwise healthy...... I see one of the four in NC is a female landseer.... Why do they always have to be so far away from me......
