Has anyone seen this? Go to www.riverbearnewfoundlands.com and click on the link that says "for the love of puppies, a memoire of a breeders husband" Loks like a fun book, I think i'm going to get one.

Speaking of "In the Company of Newfies"...I am so glad I read that before I got Max. It really helped me to "listen" to him and understand how sensitive Newfs can be.

It is powerful writing and very emotional, but maybe too much so. I had thought I might buy it for my Mother who is a newfie addict, but she would not be able to stand the grim reality in sections. Would you recomend my reading it? I am interested in any opinions.

I agree Heidi...there were parts that I found disconcerting maybe just the intensity of the emotions of the author. What I did get out of it was really trying to understand what Max was trying to communicate to me and being more aware of "reading him". It does have grim reality and it made me weep at times. It certainly made me appreciate what a good breeder goes though and certainly not to get rich!

Got my copy today! The shipping is FAST!! I just ordered it Friday the 11th and I have it here Tuesday! It looks like a cute book and it was even signed by the author! I'm in the middle of "The Best Friends I Have Were Brought To Me By My Dogs". And as soon as I finish that I will start this one!

And a side note...the other book I mentioned is GREAT! Laughter and tears!

Hey...mine came today too! Our mail comes late...often after 5pm so I didn't get it until we took Max out or a walk (mailbox is 400 ft. from house) I think I'll have a glass of wine and read for an hour...what a treat!

Jennifer, I'm definately glad I read it. In a year or so, I'll pick it up again and see if I have a better understanding of the author's emotions.

Both my wife and I have started reading "Puppies." Tear jerker at the beginning, interesting reading. I got to Chapter 3 and thought it was good, wife is past that and said she liked it.

Just finished "For the Love of Puppies" I'd compare it to a love letter to the breeder,Zoe and the puppies from her husband. It's very sweet and gives you a glimpse of an amazing couple who are raising these lovely dogs. They seem like my kind of folks.
