Fish Oil for a youngster?

My little girl Tasha is 15 weeks old and I notice she is itchy...we are all itchy with that dry winter thing happening. I have my adults on Fish Oil but was wondering if I can use it on the baby. Is 15 weeks too young? Any other ideas for her?

I am such a proud mamma (forgive me) here she is last Saturday...

My vet said it was ok since when they are young and growing so much their skin is the last to get nutrients so it is dry and can be itchy. I'm sure more experienced people will jump in. She's adorable btw!

She IS beautiful, and I think she knows it. :) We brought Diver home when he was 14 weeks old and we started to give him 1 tablet a day. (we did check with our vet first) Like mentioned above, I'm sure more experienced people will jump in. Good luck & I hope this comforts her skin.

If I remember correctly from Peter, it depends on the salmon oil. The one he uses, which is unrefined, I believe he recommends the dog be about 18 months old... Peter will likely chime in though.

This thread made me look at Peter's site again, and I believe he recommends the addition of either canned fish or the unrefined salmon oil. Based on his recommendation, I've been giving Obie Orijen 6 fish plus the cold pressed salmon oil from Vital Choice since he was a pup quite successfully. But, as Kaila said, I suspect Peter will chime in :)

By the way... Tasha's a little beauty!

if they cant tolerate fish oil coconut oil or flax seed oil can also be used

max has the coconut oil added as salmon oil was a bit rich for him
we are trying omega 3 capsules for him at the moment to see if he tolerates this better
