Feeding venison?

We have a freezer full of venison from hunting season. We've been giving cooked ground venison to our newf in addition to his kibble. I figure since it is a fairly lean meat, it would be okay. Okay to feed a newf venison?

I have been feeding some too to mine. I would think it is ok as I guess thats pretty much what wolves, coyotes eat in the wild (on a GOOD day of course! LOL) I would check with your vet though before making it a full time diet if you feed raw.

Since there are several canned brands that are venison, I would believe that should not be a problem. I know the Raw feeders will kick in here, as offer advice.

If it were me...I'd give it to your newf raw. It is a wonderful addition to his diet, but more nutritionally beneficial in its raw state for a canine. After all...how many wolves start a fire and cook their dead deer?

By the way, my newfs are on a 100% raw diet.
