Maggie is one tough cookie on toys. She can destroy a tennis ball in about two minutes. Soccer balls can last about ten minutes. Basketballs are a bit tougher, yet no match for her. When she was a pup, she wouldnt touch the rubber toys, so I have never tried the kongs. The one and only ball that has ever stood up to her abuse is a toy she stole from the kids. It is a Sky Ball. Big bouncy ball. She loves it and it has yet to be destroyed!!! Would love to buy her some new ones, just hate to see them in a pile a few minutes after we had them over. Told the husband we should just hand her some cash to chew on! would at least save me a trip to the store!
What toys do your newfies love and have stood the test of time...and jaw strenght?

Our Newfy isn't very destructive when it comes to toys, but boy, did we go through that with our lab! A winner around here is the Kong wubba. (Search "Kong Company WB1 Large Wubba Dog Toy" and you'll see an example.

Our toys survive for years, even the soft stuffies.....Mine chew bones and carry toys :). Someone is always carrying a toy around, Ronnie

I don't have aggressive chewers here, either. But mine love frozen Kongs, braided/knotted rope/fleece toys, tennis-ball material sticks from Kong. And unstuffed stuffies.

Morgan enjoys only Kong's or anything with the firehouse wrapping. Seems to tear right through the other materials. She doesn't like rubber toys and I will never give her rawhide's!

Second the suggestions on the Kong Wubba and the Jolly Ball. They have survived both newf and lab in our family

Most interesting toy I got was a small hallow stuffed animal with a opening in the bottom for what I call eggs to fit inside (3). They have fun trying to get the eggs out and then they play with the eggs all over the house. I bought 3, one was an eagle, frog & penguin...they have stood the test of time and I find these eggs all over the house.

Bella can and will destroy a Kong Wubba in minutes :( which really stinks because Haven loves them but if she leaves it laying around and I miss it, it's destroyed. The Jolly Ball has been a big hit. Bella did chew threw the handle of her first one but she has a second one now and it's still intact. I recently bought her a Hol-ee Roller ball and she really enjoys it and so far she hasn't chewed threw it. The Kong Tails has also held up except for the squeaker quit working...but it's not her favorite.

Egg Babies! I bought these for my mom's golden retriever one Christmas. He was OBSESSED with the eggs.

But I was afraid they were too small for my guys - they looked like choking hazards to me. They had them when they were puppies but once they could hide one in their face without me being able to tell they had one at all, they were given to the Golden.

Pooka has chewed the handle off of every Jolly Ball we've bought. I hear there are some super-tough ones out there without handles that they use for zoo animals - something for us to look into.

We DID buy the Jolly Egg - that hasn't been destroyed but they only play with it if I start a game. Maybe you'd have better luck with the Jolly Pet Teaser Ball? http://www.amazon.com/Jolly-Pet-Teaser-Ball-Blue/dp/B0002ARYY8/ref=pd_sim_k_4

Yea, I would say the eggs are an obsession, Nessa....these guys can hide everything in their mouths, I think I even read a thread about one hiding a coke can. Zeke only wants them out of the stuffed animal, but I've taught Myra to bring them to me and I throw them and she comes back and this goes on for hours. Even the cat is obsessed with them. (don't know why) But I just keep a close eye.

Jolly Ball here too, only one Thunder never destroyed including the huge horse ball . And he LOVES being able to pick it up by the handle to bring it back (sometimes) LOL
