DNA blood samples

Thanks Patti. I just read your thread. It's very important that everyone submits samples. It only takes so little to ask your vet to take a blood sample.

Do you know if they accept cheek-swabs rather than blood samples?

They will accept cheek swabs, but blood is the "Gold Standard' of DNA collection. Also with blood more DNA samples can be obtained for research from one dog.

OK, yes that's what I figured. Blood samples are much better for research, even though cheek swabs would have been so much easier for pups.
