I know some of you are anxious to hear how the Costco kibble feeding has been going. Murphy has been eating the Kirkland Lamb and Rice....so far so good. No issues at all...but it's only been three days of course. I found this at Costco for Gabe: http://www.naturesdomainpetfood.com/about-natures-domain. It's made by Diamond (both are) and the ingredients are almost identical to TOTW Pacific Stream. It was $29 for a 35 lb bag. Can't beat the price. Here's the ingredient listing:

INGREDIENTS
Salmon meal, sweet potatoes, peas, potatoes, canola oil, potato protein, potato fiber, natural flavor, flaxseed, ocean fish meal, salt, choline chloride, dried chicory root, tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, yucca schidigera extract, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation product, dried Trichoderma longibrachiatum fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D supplement, folic acid.

So far so good. Gabe has switched without issue also. Although I think it's pretty much the same formula as the TOTW he was eating before.

I'll keep you posted! I know it's early in the game but so far no GI upset. :D

Glad to hear it Jess!! I wish we had a Costco here...

How far is the nearest Costco from you? At this price it might be worth the drive considering the amount of furkids you have. ;)

Thanks for the support everyone. I will keep all of you posted on how it's going.

I also just switched my dogs and cats to Kirkland food and it's been almost 2 weeks now and all are doing well so thanks Jess. I got the Lamb and Rice and it's a 40lb. bag for $30. Big difference from the Holistic Blend they were on which was not a good food for them.

is there a venison ..or something without fish in it......
I don't think there's a venison formula. Are you looking for grain free? The only grain free at Costco is the Nature's Domain (exact same to Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream) and it's Salmon and Sweet Potato based. The Costco brand Kirkland has a Lamb and Rice and Chicken and Rice formula. I will check the bag to see if there's fish in the formulas. Does your crew have issues with fish?

We don't have a Costco (poor us) but we have used Sams Lamb and Rice for many years- all excet Thunder who uses Evo Herring and Salmon. So far the Lamb and Rice seems OK, does have a little corn meal in it but not too much

good thing about Costco is that if they dont like it or you have an issue with it they will refund your money so its a win win situation.

I will buy a bag or two later on when the dogs food supplies are a bit lower as I normall store 6 months worth of food at a time

after reading your thread about the costco brand food, eric and i (who are on a new home owners budget ) went out and purchased a bag. im very very pleased with the price, and how the dogs are doing on it. we previously had them on eagle pack lamb and rice and switched to the kirkland lamb and rice, they are doing fantastic. its been just over a week for us and no upset bellies or anything!

thank you so much for letting us know about this food. it will really help us keep within our budget restraints!

Erika it's worth a shot! If you don't like it (or more importantly the pooches don't) you can return it to Costco for a full refund. :)

I'm glad this thread (and my previous thread) has helped others too. Makes me happy! :)))
