Come to the Dark Side, my Newfs

Long story short; two weeks ago I went to the ER because I couldn't breath all night and had to sit up. Turns out I was in heart failure, as in 20% function!! HOw the heck did this happen? Not sure, but it sure scared the dickens out of me. Transferred by ambulance to critical cardiac unit at larger hospital and now have...ta da! A pacemaker. Came home July4 and the dogs were exceedingly calm around me, ran around me in circles, but didn't try to jump on me or anything;although I still got plenty of slime!

But last night my next door neighbor came by with a bouquet of wildflowers and you would have thought we were under attack! Both Traveler and Bella refused to let her come up on the deck and they were really ferocious about their objections. I was shocked by the ruckus. Dave put them in the house so we could all visit outside, but it was stunning to see how they reverted to such a protective stance. Can't wait 'til I'm back to normal and can play with them but meanwhile I feel so very safe.

Oh Anne, I am so so sorry! How could this happen, you are a spring chicken! I am so glad the kids were protecting you. It's amazing to see their response to certain things.

Please take care and hope to see you at NFD in September.

Good grief! So glad you are on the mend but that just have been scary. Getting "older" sucks, doesn't it! Take care my friend. Good to know the 4 footers have everything under control.
