Orca's ending his last week of wearing the cone of shame since his cherry-eye surgery. He managed to destroy 2 cones to bits and pieces, got a temporary donut, and is now on his third cone in 10 days. I think I've got the secret to making them last, though. So, for progeny, if the cone looks flimsy, be sure to duct tape it right away! This helped to make the cone last a bit longer, although it didn't completely prevent destruction. We finally went to a pet store, but the largest cone they had, and removed the flimsy button type closure (he kept running into things and breaking it) so I went to Home Depot and replaced them with zip ties. Problem solved (I hope!)
Here are some pictures of my boy in his cones.
