Cheering for Patriots

I live close to Purdue U at a resort area. While Matt Light was playing for Purdue I met him on the Roof Garden Lounge at our resort. He was with mutual friends, and came up and sat with us for a few hours. He didn't say he played for Purdue, and we did not recognize his name. Someone came up and said he plays for Purdue. My husbands father played for Notre Dame, and that is all Matt wanted to talk about, he was a very humble young man, and extremely nice.
We had several mutual friends, and the night he was picked for pros a friend of ours asked him how it felt to know tomorrow he would be a millionaire. He responded by saying he would just like to go somewhere warm. The Patriots picked him, and he has been on their starting lineup ever since, and has 3 super bowl rings, and is trying for the 4th.
I have to root on such a fine young man, and of course that good looking Tom Brady, ha!

Yeah, my daughter is a big Colts fan. She is going to Indy Sunday for the Super Bowl Experience. She is a big Peyton Manning fan, and I think he may be leaving the Colts.

There's no doubt I'll be rooting for the Patriots. I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life and only 30 minutes from Foxboro Stadium. I'd probably be disowned of I didn't.

Matt Light's parents live about 1/2 mile from me. I pass their house every time I go to town. Greenville is his home town. I remember when he played High School foot ball. He has done a lot for the kids in our community.

I was very impressed with him Jeannie. He is a very humble person. I think it was something like Mr. Congeniality or something like that when he played for Purdue they called him. So my impression wasn't the only one.
