Hi all!

I'm going to post some pictures of Teddy soon. He just turned a year old. I think he'll end up being a little on the smaller end. He only weighs 85 pounds and is about 25 inches at the shoulder. But that's okay. I'll love him the same no matter what. And hopefully a smaller Teddy will love my wallet a little more with those vet bills....

Anyway, I was just sort of curious when everyone's newfs lost some of the puppy energy. I'm in the very strange situation where my Newfoundland has more energy than my Border Collie! Teddy isn't out of control or anything. He just bounces around a lot and believes that anytime is playtime. He's pretty adorable.

Hope everyone is well!

PS- YAY Fall! Teddy is LOVING the cooler weather. He likes to lay outside and sprawl out with a huge smile on his face. =)

Does vary Beau only slowed when he got ill at 4 1/2 years old and Max was still going until nearly 2 years old.he may have slowed because of illness again though.

They are overgrown pups for ages though.

My Jake is 3.5 years old and really only started growing up at the age of 3. He is still very much a puppy though as he loves to run and still gets the zoomies about once a month...makes me laugh everytime he does that...

I have to take Aika to the daycare once a week because there's at least one day when she is so full of energy I can't take it. I work from home, but I can't stop working just to play with her, and I don't like crating her (but I don't trust her unattended either) So when she gets too playful, we go to daycare. The following day, she spends it mostly sleeping. She just turned 10 months today, btw.

Daycare is a great idea if there is a reputable place near you. I used to take Maggie once a week - she loved it.

I didn't have her as a puppy so I can't really answer your question. But now she slows down in May, perks up again in October, and acts like a puppy when it snows.

She still gets the zoomies every day when my husband gets home from work.

Heck, I just lost a 9 1/2 year old that really didn't slow down until about 3 months before she died!

Owain is 2 1/4 yr and is slightly beginning to slow down but I really think he is not your typical Newf!! Next week he gets neutered and I am dreading it because just to get him in to the vet clinic will be a major operation, he is so exuberant.

It varies with the dog and what lines they are from. I am still waiting on my 2 yr old.
Angela, Owain is 2 already!? Good luck at the vet. Just get him there and have someone come out and help you if you need to.
