Calling all Kloofbears

In my opinion this thread should have been locked and left up after the original post. That way people can still see it and respond via PM or private email but it would not lead to discussing/endorsing a breeder.
I think the project sounds wonderful and you are very thoughtful for doing this for your breeder.

Ok. And I think that people love their dogs from this breeder, no matter what the breeder. Or, they have wanted a dog from this breeder. Can you endorse something you've never owned? If someone had responded--"Yes, you've always wanted a 'kennel-name' dog, and you MUST get one because they are the best of all breeders" then they would be endorsing said breeder.

I think it's awesome what you're doing for your breeder, and I would just like to go on record saying I have no problem with this thread even though I do not have a dog from this breeder.

Are there actually people who just scan postings all day to see who might be in the grey area of a rule? I can them the "NN" police....Let the mods do their job.. Surely you have other more constructive things to do...then to be a wannabe mod....

Do you have a deadline? I would love Marcus to be included.
What a nice thing to do!
Marcus...when we picked him up...the same day as Nessa and Sandy picked up Pooka!

Marcus now

(please ignore the "artwork" on the windows)

I'd say it is a gray area but I am not going to shut it down until Angela and I can decide.

I don't think this is any different than someone saying they'd like to have a pup from so and so breeder because this dog won Westminster or something.

GAD relaxed the rules so I am not going to jump on this until we mods can talk.

I did this a couple of years ago on here. I think the way it was posted was anyone who has a dog from (such and such breeder) please PM me. We're planning a surprise party for her.
PS It was really a wonderful surprise for her birthday and she was very touched. We had owners from all over the US and Canada and as far as Japan. Go for it, Mary.

The Count is on it. Might take me a few days to find my photos and such, but I'll send them on to you. She'll love your gift, what a wonderful and thoughtful idea!

Oh my goodness, Pooka is sweet, but look at BABY NANOOK!!! What a furball! We didn't adopt Elvis until he was 4 months old (and already 70 pounds), so we've never experienced a "small" puppy.

I have YET to see an ugly Newf, regardless of what kennel they came from, and I don't see this as an endorsement - just a nice idea. Elvis is NOT a Kloofbear, for the record, but it's interesting to me to see what Newfs here on Newf-net may be related.

Before NN switched to it's new format a few years back, there was a thread about which dogs are related to which - right here on NN. Kennel names were allowed and posted, and then confusion ensued about the rules, so it kind of died out.

That was a great thread...everyone here found new "relatives". It might be in the archives, but I'm not sure, since it was on the old site.

I'd love to see something like that again. Lots of new people here, and new pups since then.

Hah! Well that picture is a little unfair - I went to visit Nanook when he was only 7 weeks old, at his breeder's. We didn't take him home that day, so he looks much wee-er than Pooka did in his picture, (since that was at 9 weeks old, when Pooka DID come home).
