Bruce has been home now for 5 days after his TTA surgery and is doing fantastic. He has the lower level to walk around. He almost seems normal and as soon as he hears the fridge open he pops up from wherever he is and comes to see if it is time to get his pills. I put them in cream cheese which he loves  I have no gates up ..except at the stairs..because he is feeling so good, I fear that he may try to get over them..which he has been known to do!!!! He had little brusing...hardly any swelling..and has been putting weight on the leg since the day he came home..it amazes me. He gets his sutures out friday and then we can start our walks in the street. I know he will be anxious for that! Here are a few photos I took the day he came home..

Oh Pam...I am so happy to hear how well Bruce is doing. That's what I love about the TTA surgery. They are weight bearing almost immediately, and are able to rehab very quickly! Hug's to Bruce!!!

Yes, Jane, they do seem to feel better much quicker with the TTA. The other day Clark said " Are you sure they didn't just make a big cut and sew him up again" Hard to believe he had a bone cut with plate and screws etc.

So glad he's doing so well
And he sure is a handsome dude, sending well wishes for that speedy recovery

He looks great - I love that they left a fur "boot"!!

Elvis starting responding to the sound of a pill bottle opening when he was first recovering from a TPLO. It was funny but broke my heart at the same time that he was used to getting so many pills!

!
It does look like a boot doesn't it? Almost looks like he has a heel there too. I like that they didn't shave him too much. I think some vets get clipper happy and shave more area than needed!! They didn't shave for the IV either which was great. I hate when they shave all the way around the leg just for the IV .Those furnishings take FOREVER to grow back!

He looks great! and a much more reasonable shaved area. My friend, Judi's Newf, Splash, was shaved right to her rib cage for her TPLO. It seemed ridiculous seeing how small the incision was in relation to the amount shaved.
