Bobby update

Well...where do I start...The SECOND neurologist referred by the first as her back up, said he did see some soft tissue in the spine, but did not think it was tumor. Could be caused by Erlichia. Then..we got his blood titer back this week from the new blood draw, and it was negative. Now everybody is stumped again because that NEVER (they say) happens with Erlichia. We are going to draw again, and the vet is looking into which lab it went to. He is now one week off steroids, and acts like his old self. Last time he relapsed two weeks off, so we will wait out another week.We are just thrilled he is back to normal in his actions. He is still not allowed to play with the other dogs, and he does not like that of course. He had to come off the Doxycicline, because he was throwing them up. We are just taking him off a few days then back on. He will have a few more weeks of that.So..at this point we are thinking it is not as serious as the MU diagnosos but still are not sure what is going on. Since someone asked I am posting what is going on now. I hate to bore everyone with our trip down medical lane with Bobby. It has been some ride....Julie

How odd that they still can't give you a definite diagnosis. Glad to know that he is continuing to improve on the meds, though.
I had wondered how the boy was doing.
Hugs and sloppy newfie kisses from his brothers and half sister here.

Julie, as far as I am concerned, you will NEVER bore me with dog problems. I wish I could give you some answers, but I can't.

Sending good thoughts and prayers from NH.

Still saying prayers for Bobby AND Sally every night, for continued improvement! Is there a possibility that the meds knocked the Erlichia already and that is why it is coming up negative?

It's good to hear that it may not be as serious as previously thought. Sending positive thoughts.

Thanks for the update Julie. I think about Bobby a lot and touch base with Sally on occasion. This is very frustrating for everyone.

Keeping Bobby in my prayers.

Thanks Julie. That boy's been on my mind. I'm glad he's feeling better at least even if all this uncertainty is driving you guys nuts.

Not a bit boring. Describing the symptoms and treatments may help someone else, later on. Thanks so much for taking the time to post these updates. Give Bobby a big (gentle) hug from his NN friends.

I look everyday to see if there is an update. It's funny how we get so caught up on everyone's pups but you start feeling like family and you want to know your family is safe and sound.
