So, my baby had her operation and came through it with flying colors. No problems so far but I am watching her like a hawk. She stayed at the vets for a few days and didn't feel like eating so we went across the street to the market and got her a roasted chicken and the vet techs fed it to her...that did the trick!!:groovy:
She is home now..whew..so happy that she is home. She was missed so much and all is good..yaayyy!!

good luck with the spay...usually no problems after as long as she leaves her belly alone!! Roast chicken would do it for sure!!!

Thanks for your well wishes!! Bindi is chewing at the bit to get back to her normal activities...she's kind of a tomboy I was wonderfing when it's safe for her to go swiming?
My mom is thinking a month post op will be fine. I was going to take her sooner, but my mom stopped me and said that I should really find out. :)
I can call my vet tomorrow, but she dosent own a newf :)hehe...

I'm glad to hear she's doing so good!! I'm not sure about the swimming bit, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to wait a month to be on the safe side. That would give the skin sufficient time to completely heal, therefore, nothing from the water could get it from the incision area. I'd definitely talk to the vet.

Give her a big hug from us for being such a good girl!! I am also impressed with the vet's office getting her roast chicken!! They sound like nice people.

If one enters a swimming situation..Too soon..the tissue becomes softened..and the stitchs can pull right out..seen it happen on people..and suspect..the same can be true with animal surgeries. Ask the Vet! ina n HB n Kesa

No swimming for another week or so, I'd say - and then ask the Vet before you let her swim. And keep the activity at a dull roar for a few more days. She has internal as well as external stiches. If those rupture...she could die. Be careful for a while.

Make sure she's totally healed before anything like that.

Sending good thoughts to Bindi for a fast recovery!
