A call-out to Pete M. for helping me transition Ben to a fish (salmon, mackerel, tuna) and brown bread diet over the past few months. We've eliminated all processed food and I think.. I THINK..... Ben has slimmed down a bit. He's not due for a vet check anytime soon, so I haven't weighed him, but his ribs are more noticeable when I feel them, and his joints (shoulder, hips) more pronounced when he sits.
Keep in mind Ben topped out at 198 pounds, and any weight off him is good.
I never thought he was too heavy (and the vet said he was fine) but hauling that extra 30-40 pounds around cannot be good for him. He loves his fish/bread diet and is always eager for his food.
Thanks Pete!
