An amusing report

Watched the coverage and while the story was amusing.. I was not impressed with the care or look of the Newf....Shouldn't have been running loose... apparently does not live in the home but a "heated garage".. and needed grooming. Sends a wrong message for our breed...:(

There were things I didn't like either, like living in the garage and being able to come and go at will. As for the grooming part, I think all of our dogs look much like this from time to time between grooming. The post was solely for the purpose of the funny side of the story. It's a pity some people focus on the negative and miss out on the funny side.

I saw the humour Tina... We all laugh at situations when our precious Newfs are mistaken for bears.. It is part of what makes them so special..
I was just disturbed at what we see so often .. Neglect.. Plain and simple... :(

But it's not neglect plain and simple. While we may not all agree with their choices, that is a very judgmental and harmful thing to say, and the judgment has been made on the basis of a few minute long news clip. That's incredibly unfair.

Sadly, a lot of the responses in this thread are indicative of the judgment that I've been noticing a lot on this site lately. It's really a shame.

Sorry if anyone was offended but I stand by my personal thoughts...

We're all entitled to our opinions right? I don't want my dog living in a garage nor do I want her roaming. She did look like she needed a grooming but not too badly, didn't see huge mats hanging off or anything. It WAS a funny story. :) Poor cab driver. Also, if people aren't happy here I guess there are many many other places to go on the net. :)

The night roaming would be what i would worry about....My dogs are never allowed to roam. it is just how i feel. Poor cabby must have felt foolish after all of that, and lucky that the dog did not get shot like poor Rosie

My 3 all live in the house and our yard is fenced and gated so they cannot get out and roam. That part of the story I didn't like, but being confused for a bear is worth a chuckle or two.
