Abbies first dip in her pool

Well it was a balmy 60 degrees here in MN today. :groovy: We went for a nice afternoon walk around the neighborhood enjoying the sights and sounds. Well by the time we got back her tongue was hanging (yes, I brought water with us) and you would have thought that it was the middle of summer. So being the good newfie owner I thought that I would surprise her by getting her own personal newfie pool out of storage for the first time this year. When I opend the shade on the patio door to revel it to her she almost created a new opening  well than I had to spend some time drying her off... ahhh the joys of having a newfie.

And Last but not least: Where's the water??? It was here just a second ago, put it back PLEASE!!!!!

She looks so happy in it! I'm planning on picking up a wading pool this weekend. But, what really caught my eye last weekend was a big plastic cattle trough the feed/lawn& garden place was using to display its pond goldfish for sale. I asked the guy about it and it's $250.. really sturdy and just about perfect to partially submerge as a permanent water fixture in the yard and permanent "newf pool"! Wonder if I'd ever be able to keep Obie OUT of it though!

Just be careful with those "mid size" pools. If you have a small one you can dump the water every day. If you have a "real" pool the water is treated.
I always worry about whipworms and such with semi-permanent pools. Beware if the water is standing for more than a day.

P.S. Gabriel says Abbie is a real bathing beauty, even when not actually bathing!
