Oh man! Soooo jealous. We are on a bluff on the ocean. I am just to scared to let him go free, afraid he'll jump the bluff running after the blackbirds. He never does have a great landing plan. How long before you can leave them off leash like that? Mine is 5 months old. Lily

I will be honest with you, I still am not 100% comfortable with leaving Tsunami off leash. He is the one that will take off like a bat out of hell and his recall isn't 100%. Typhoon on the other hand doesn't like to wonder far...as you can see in the video. Your best bet is to find a secluded place and practice your recall. When it gets consistent start introducing other places with "distractions". But #1 make sure that it is legal in your area to allow a dog off leash. We are fortunate enough to live in Germany where dog laws are strict, but at the same time they are very friendly to owners and dogs. The area where I filmed this and where I take the boys almost daily is a forest that is literally 2 blocks from our house. We live away from busy streets and there are not a lot of people. There are a lot of dogs, but that is what we have been working on. I would say that even at 5 months, you should start training now. Remember though, a 5 month puppy is still growing and the joints need to be protected. So watch how long and what types of surfaces you are walking on. Hope this helps a little. :D

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Just watched it again, and loved it just as much the second time. How much time do you spend grooming your boys, they look like they just came from the doggie salon. They are stunning!

Everyone always says that they are so well groomed. Honestly we only brush a few times a week. Tsunami's coat is self maintaining pretty much. If you breathe on Typhoon he will mat. So we have to keep up with him daily.
