Zeke, mental issue or not??

Just an update, we have only had one issue since that weekend. I was walking him and out of the blue he just seemed really worried or maybe had a shooting pain. I calmed him down after he circled a few times, checked his legs and feet, thought maybe he stepped on something cause he was fine walking before that.

My thoughts are a shooting pain but within a few minutes he was fine. If it should happen again, I think I'm gonna call the chiro to see what they think. I do think that weekend of not going up the steps was whatever the bases were doing.

Another update, well you know how things are going great, it's only a matter of time till something else happens. Well they decided that our roads need to be paved and they'd finish the job they started last year or the year before.

Needless to say, when they rolled the road Zeke flipped, the house was shaking so bad and he was pacing, barking, shaking....gave him a zanax and he calmed down some but now I'm back to the I don't want to cross the road here or there and I don't want to walk over that way. And Jane, the black tar at night, he's scared to even step on it...even if I'm standing in front of him on it. and this morning in the rain he wouldn't even think about it. Hopefully we have a sunny winter to lighten up the roads cause otherwise it will be a boring winter walking season.

Oh poor boy. I doubt if owners of neurotic pocket dogs have even a remote idea of what that's like in a giant breed. It's not like you can just scoop him up and go on with your business. I hope he comes around and realizes that the road is not a threat. Otherwise, you may have to literally roll out a red carpet. Or a white one.

But in a strange way, it makes these big goofs more endearing. You just want to hug them and tell them it's OK. Brings out the nurturing side.

Lots of treat training though hopefully once the road looses it's shine he will be better.plus to him it's got to stink as well with being freshly laid .
