White hair on chin

While I was at the mayo clinic this past week, someone came up to us and was talking to us about newfies and how pretty Baloo was, however they asked how old he was and we said 4.5 and they oh we thought he was older because he has white hair on his chin? I told her he has had white on his chin since he almost two. Oh she said like their must be something wrong with him like his health or something.. If he has a white blaze and a white tipped paw. He has three sibs that are landseers. Wouldn't that better explain his white chinny hairs?

I would think so. My Golden has a cream colored face just like his mom since he was a pup and people always think he's older than he is because of it too.

I've seen a lot (most in fact) of Landseer Newfs with a white chin. Molly has a totally black head, but her chin is white.

Mira is Landseer recessive....and has white hairs popping up here and there on her head. It's funny!! She's mostly black except for one white paw tip.

I don't think it's odd at all for him to have some white on his chin.

My Hannah is line bred solid black and has no landseer relatives anywhere in her pedigree. When she came into her first heat at 15 months her muzzle and chin turned completely grey/white! Therefore, I have always assumed it was a hormonal thing.
She has none anywhere else....just this fetching grey muzzle.

Awww, just sugar lips is all. Onyx has them, Trouble had them and even Smudge has sugar lips. Just shows people how sweet they really are!

Snuffles had a white chin before he even came to Decatur. (Picture was sent to me from the breeder for my scrapbook) There where 2 landseers in his litter from some other pictures provided.

Sugar lips, I love that! Donna, Mira sounds just like Baloo except he has the wht blaze. I do find white hairs popping up all of him. No patches of white but just little white hairs. For the record as I know all newfy folks feel about their furbabies, Baloo could have pink with green stripes for coloring and I wouldn't care, He is absolutely goregous

Turner was born with a dab of white on his chin.....sometimes it is more noticeable than others.

Tuck was born with some white on his chin - it got smaller as he got bigger. I call it his "Got Milk" chin. He loves milk. He does not beg for anything but a glass of milk. (and maybe the chocolate chip cookie to dunk with).
