Which veggies

OK, I have Boagie eating raw and cooked veggies. So for fresh, raw and peeled zucchini is the biggest hit, cooked carrots are a close second. What I need to know is what can she not eat in the fruit and vegitable world.
I know onions are a big no no, but what else?

Karen,
thanks for the list. I don't have a farm but we have a great farmers market and co-op. I was reading up on the suppliments and am going to the the co-op for that.
Also, thank you for the info on grapes. I had no idea. My mom's dauschound, Max, was crazy for grapes would eat a whole bunch if you gave him the chance.
What about food allergies. Have you ever heard of such a thing in a dog? Another of boagies favorite treats, in extreme moderation, is peanuts.

Boagie is not allergic to peanuts thank heavens, I just wanted to make sure. For the vitamins and food sups. I have been giving her the glucosamine. I will get some shark cartaligde and will start her on the vitamin C. I have also heard about the blue green algea...
We are having bad doggie moment.... she keeps knocking a pan off the stove my husband just ran down stairs to find out what the last crash was...
What about poppy seeds for their sedative effect? any knowledge on that? After all they are an Opium,,, just kidding... what about benadryl I hear it works great on kids.. again, just kidding

We give Rory a mixture of frozen (& microwaved) vegies every night in her dinner, along with kibble and usually some fresh meat and often rice and pasta.

She has peas, corn, carrots, beans, sweet potato & broccoli.

We don't blend them though. Is it necessary? We started adding the veggies when she needed to lose some weight, as a filler for the portion we removed from her dinner. We can blend them, I'd just never really thought of it.

Karen,
At this point I know of no problems with boagies joints or bones. Although she will hop with her back legs... sometimes. I never thought this could be an indication there may be a problem until I was reading up on the suppliments yesterday.
What about rough play. She and Baby are always tackeling each other. Baby is just a month older than Boagie, but being a greyhound/lab/dane mix she is very fast and will just bowl over Boagie. Boagie does not seem any worse for it and if any thing is very fit from all the playing and running they do. She always just jumps right up.

I have my first newf and made my first mistake by giving him watermelon - d.i.a.r.r.h.e.a!!

For love or money, I cannot get him to eat fresh vegetables!

Do you cook them as you would for people???

He has great food. I'm not much of a groomer (thankfully I have professional help) but everyone comments on his coat - I attribute it to Innova! Great food!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dogger,

I feed all of the same to my dogs that Karen does, with one exception. All veggies are given to them in a pureed raw state. I don't cook anything for them with the exception of their eggs. About once every two weeks they get scrambled eggs for dinner.

I have started going to the local co-op, they have a great juice bar and nothing to do with all the left over pulp. it is a great filler and I dont need to take out the food processor

Karen - thanks for the info. I makes sense, too. I think we will start pureeing the vegies. But we will cook them first in the microwave. we buy big bags of frozen veggies for her.

Lucky I got a new blender for my birthday, hey!
