I'm going to trim Thor's paws (top) in a bit and wanted to know what number to use. I'm thinking a four because I don't want the hair super short, but I've never trimmed his paws before, so I thought to ask everyone.
What no. for paws?

You don't want to use clippers. Comb the hair on the paws backwards pulling the hair up from between the toes. Take your shears and trim it in a rounded shape. On the pads I take it all the way to the pad and will trim out between the pads to the skin. Then trim around the outside of the foot to get make them neat.

I used trimmers and shears..not the greatest looking, but it helped a lot. I will know for next time though. Thanks.

Elvis has to do with my poor skills! I just cut off whatever looks long. I don't think I've completely butchered him awhile, but there was a steep learning curve. For awhile my husband was afraid to leave me home alone with Elvis because he never knew what sort of hackjob he'd come home to.

I too use curved shears for feet.

Thanks!!! The video is a lot of help! This was my first time trimming his feet, so I was a little lost. Thank god it's just hair. I will know for next time for sure.
