What kinda cameras do you have? What do you suggest. Post photos you've taken with yours, so others ((me ;) )know what you mean

I want a new camera, need one?. I'd like one of those big black ones :D (you know what i mean), but i know nothing about them..

A good zoom and a sharp image is what i'm asking for..

I have the Canon Digital Rebel...one of the big black ones

My photos are just snapshots of our gang. Some (within the past year) were taken with the Digital Rebel...others are older and were taken with a "small silver Olympus Camedia"!

I'm shooting with a Canon 20D and various Canon and Sigma lenses. A Canon 5D is in my future.

I read through the article below and it helped validate my impulse purchase of the XT for Laurel's birthday.

The middle / end of the article also gives good operational information and a detailed overview of features, descending to the detail of how key menus are configured.

Camera shoots great coming out of the box. We are considering the heavy duty battery for back-up, though the existing one can shoot hundreds of pictures before recharge.

When buying, be certain whether you are buying the kit (includes lense) or the body only, sans lense.

Capri, there is a bit of zoom with the camera, enough for us, but at this end of the camera spectrum you may need to eventually plunk down another 500 USD to 1000 USD or more for a telephoto for those reconnaissance-papparazzi-hiding in a dumpster across the street kind of shots.

What you will gain with this type of camera is instant exposure when you push the button, which means you will catch the action as it happens. Plus, its a full 8 megapixels with a larger image capturing mirror inside, which means you capture whiskers from across the room. You can also shoot a short chain of shots rapidly (a delay occurs after 3 or 4 shots as the memory card catches-up, but a rapic sequence of 3 or 4 suits us fine).
