Water Training

Scarlett will be going to her first water training weekend this weekend. A mock water test will be done (although she is a newbie so I do not think she participates in this). I am really excited to take her. She knows how to swim and the information says that I must have a lifejacket and water shoes. Does she need a lifejacket too? I do not think it is required and since I know she can swim and I do not know if I should be worried about this, but is it recommended that the dogs wear them?

My dogs can swim really well without a life jacket.but I put one on, becuase they tire less and can do more for longer. It is important for them to get used to swim without and with. I also do it when we go into deeper water. We have someone on our Kayak/boat at all times and it is great to pull a dog that gets tired ot in strive out of the water. We actually had to do that for the first time ever on one dog, who suddently got tired........We also teach our dogs to be pulled by the life jacket and to rest on us in the water and stay still...You wil have loads of fun, enjoy :groovy:
