Visiting Newf requested in London, Ontario

A lady in London, Ontario who has been home bound for a year has contacted me regarding a Newfoundland coming to visit in her home. She contacted St. John Ambulance who are into therapy dogs but with no luck. The other organization in Canada that provides therapy dog visits does not have any contacts in London.

If anyone has a well behaved Newfoundland in the area and is willing to help this lady, please e-mail me at peter@hannibalkennels.on.ca for more info. The Newf does not have to be a certified therapy dog. While most likely not an issue, a private visitation would be covered by your home insurance.

One of the first Newf lists that I contacted was Newf Friends as I am a volunteer with this group. One kind lady who lives an hour and a half away offered to bring her pug puppy and optionally, a kitten. I was hoping to find someone a little closer and, if possible, with a Newf but so far no luck.

I love knowing there are kindhearted people out there like this woman, who would drive so far to brighten a strangers day.

There are Newfs there. I met a vendor of dog food at the Pet Expo in Ottawa a couple of weeks ago and she was telling me about a Newf who is one of her clients. Sorry, I have no way of contacting her as I didn't keep any info since I don't feed Tiika kibble. She just stopped me because I had Tiika with me.

You could try calling the local Vets to see if they have a Newf as a client and would pass the request along.
