Yes, I think in order to "experience it" in its fullness.. you must go see one with the public. For a newby... the movie is lost and isn't fully grasped in the privacy of your own home....

Are there still theaters that show it and allow the audience to bring in the "extras"?

It's been a few years (since my high school days actually) and I haven't seen the movie in a while... but when we went to a theater, the patrons were allowed to bring in items that corresponded to scenes in the movie. For example (and someone correct me if I've got this all muddled)... there is a point where you throw toilet paper at the screen and I seem to remember something about sliced bread.... In the right state of zany mind, the whole thing is hysterical.

Someone who remembers specifics can elaborate. Hmmm... I think it's been too long. Guess I'll have to rent it!

HaHaHa... Neither actually! :clown: A group of us all went to the show after our Junior Prom. Changed out of the prom dresses and into jeans and sweatshirts. I was far too modest back then! If I were to go now.... Well, I'd be a bit more adventurous to get into the spirit of the show!!! It was a blast as a group though!

I *knew* that you watched it last night. I also knew that Sandy would roll his eyes (Dave does the same thing when I watch it)
(( He looks at me even more oddly when I watch "Enchanted"..))

What I'd like to know is how'd Nanook hold up?? Probably giving Pooka the evil eye saying "Look what you've done! You've pushed Mama over the edge!" hahahaha!!

LOVE that movie. It's such a trip!

We've watched it a zillion times, at least. I know the words to that song by heart...hahahahahaha!

We used to go to the midnight showings when it first came out. It played every weekend everywhere in the big cities for a LONG time!!

My kids are grown now, and they're huge fans too!
