We have 5 crates.
Two of them are the Midwest Folding Economy Crates, which we use every day and are quite pleased with!!! They measure 48"D x 35"H x 30"W.
Two of them are Scott Crates, for our Van. They measure: 48" L x 24" W x 36" H. They work ok, but we weren't thrilled with the quality. If we had to do it over again, we'd go with crates from Central Metal Products for our van. I've also seen that Midwest now makes side-by-side crates designed for vans and suv's, but I don't know much about those.
Our 5th crate was acquired by pure luck. We were doing errands one day, and we drove by a house that was having a yardsale. They had a crate, that looked identical to our midwest crates. We stopped, and sure enough, it was a midwest crate, but one of the drop pin style. We measured it, and it was the same size, so we bought it. It was almost brand new and in excellent condition.
We paid $50 for it. It's our extra crate, reserved for an occasional rescue, and we may also take it to our all-breed club, to use when training one of the girls.
If I could change one thing about any of our crates, I would like to have one with a side door as well. They are neat.
