Titering for Dist/Corona/Parvo

Angel is due for her annual check up this Friday.

Last year we titered for this vaccination, and she showed enough immunity to skip the vacc.

We haved changed vets, and I wonder if she's still immune.... Or should she get the shot?

Why not do titres again to see if she still has enough immunity?
Having a dog with Vaccine induced vasculitis I prefer to give as few vaccines as necessary!

I agree with Angela, the safest way is to titer. I titer every year, but some people titer every year for roughly three years, to get a basic idea if the levels are holding, and then they titer every 2-3 years.

My oldest girl has to have a Parvo booster every year. My male needed a distemper booster the first year and hasn't needed any since so I really like the extra information of a titer result to guide me on what they need. It is more expensive, but if I can keep them healthier for a longer period of time, then it is well worth it, imo.

Yeah, what they said!

We only titer for distemper and parvo. We've never done corona or any of the others on any of our animals. Our vet tells us whether to titer in a year or not, I guess you can tell by levels or something. Our regular vet won't do titers. Have fun at the vet!
