This Newf reminds me of my Poseidon.

Oh my goodness! This beautiful boy looks so much like Poseidon. Sadly, he must be a product of a BYB who didn't bother w/ health clearances. I wish he wasn't in Ill so my dh could do the surgery he needs. He's tempting, but it says he's somewhat dominant.

Oh, you're Beth Barlow Wagner? I responded on FB that I'm in IL and driving to Florida, but not until mid-May :( And you know, maybe they have stubborness confused for dominance...he might just be difficult, like my little knothead :)

Yes, that's me. I've emailed and called trying to talk to someone regarding this guy. My husband says he can do the surgery. We just have to find a way to get him down here. Hopfully I'll get more info in the morning.

Well, I wish you the best of luck and I wish I could help...I know he's been on that site for a while too. I remember seeing him on there over a month ago. I really hope he gets a happy ending, and you too :)

Thanks, we do too. We're doing all we can contacting them and waiting to hear back.

Dominance could just be a leadership issue and as soon as you do a bit of Obedience training with what people call dominant dogs, the dogs are glad to have a leader to follow....I have dealt with quite a few dogs that people tell me are dominant, but it was just because they had no one to follow and make descisions for them. I hope you can help this boy :) Ronnie

Thanks! We are really trying to get him. I've contacted Jennifer and let her know my husband would not only do the surgery, but neuter him too. I'm waiting to hear back from her and hopefully see if we can get him transported down here. It just makes me sick that breeders let pups go w/o doing any health clearances.

Thanks, we were only trying to help because a friend brought him to our attention. I got an email from the lady saying he's already had his eye surgery. I mean, why not update the website and not make it look like the poor dog will be blind any minute. She just thanked me for my concern, no mention of me adopting him. It still upsets me that someone is breeding Newfs w/o doing clearances.
