Substitute for Sentinel (NN)

I've had my dogs on Sentinel for years with good luck. It worked out well when I got my Aussie mix Sydney. I haven't had her tested for the MDR1 gene since I could get Sentinel. I've heard its supposed to be back in production but am looking for an alternative. Anyone else have an Aussie, Collie or other Ivermectin sensitive breed? What do you use for heartworm prevention?

A woman I work with has a Collie and she mentioned she uses Revolution with no problem.

We use Heartgard Plus for our dogs and Emma has done fine so far.

I think what people are not reading here is "Ivermectin sensitive". I do belive most of the oral heart worm prevenitives are Ivermectin based. Have you checked about Trifexis?? I know the vets around here are pushing it.

Not that this is on topic here, but I know people with multiple dogs who buy the Ivermectin at the farm supply store (OTC here) and give a small dose. Of course that does not protect against the other parisites many of these products go for.

I guess I should have clarified that revolution is approved for use in dogs having the mutated mdr1 gene
