Styes

Has anyone's dog ever had a stye in their eye? I just noticed the past few days that my Bria has a stye on her top lid. From what I've read and from talking to other people, styes are from bacteria and usually go away on their own. I was wondering if she should be on tetracyclin eye cream. Also aren't there cases where styes are from ingrown eye lashes and if so does this require surgery? I'm not panicking just yet but when it comes to the eye area we want to be extra careful. Oh a client of mine's Lab had one last year and it went away on it's own even though his vet said the dog should have surgery to remove it. My client decided to wait a couple of weeks to see if it grew or stayed the same and it just went away.

Hmmm. I don't think so. Are you sure that is what it is? If so, I'd try to wait a few days?

Yes I'm pretty sure as I've seen it many times in other dogs also I too suffer from styes (though slightly different in people). I also went on-line and checked out websites that had pics and it sure does look the same. I'm getting tetracycline eye ointment from the vet tomorrow just as a precaution. It's kind of like a clogged pore when they get them and is very common from what I read.
