I seem to kind of be in No Man's Land as far as regional rescue in this area.

Look at this map. http://www.ncanewfs.org/regclubs/pages/regclubmap.html

If it's correct, SCNC is all of Kentucky. I'm in northeast Ohio and should do Penn-Ohio but I saw a call for fosters on Facebook for SCNC and signed up. Living here hasn't been an issue, except that we're too far away to easily participate in their events.

*also, I kind of want to move to Arizona just to join the "Mesquite Newf Club". I bet they have killer cookouts.

If it's correct, SCNC is all of Kentucky.
SCNC listing says it's area covers within a 200 mile radius of Columbus, Oh. I am about 450 miles from Columbus, but if they are willing to work outside their area, I would certainly foster for them.
I am currently fostering for great pyrenees rescue and the flow of abused, abandoned and neglected dogs just never stops...
The ones who make it into rescue are the lucky ones..sadly a lot of pyrs are just shot by their owners when they don't prove useful..

I,too, am in No Man's land. Wish I wasn't so far away, as Echo has been gone for over a year and once you've had two, one just won't do. Also, I never thought I'd say it, but three dogs just doesn't seem like enough since we had five. So, DH and I are considering looking at rescuing or rehoming. Echo was a rehome and she was tremendous. I know that in the past living where we do (out of range) I had no luck with the rescue groups. Guess we'll see.

We're near Columbus so even though we should be in the Penn-Ohio if it's not a problem we might join the SCNC to help with transports. I'm not sure how I would feel about fostering Turner and Willow are still full of energy and might be a bit much for a newf with a history.
