It was fun!
I just have to mention this - I think I might have last year, but it's worth repeating...
When I started at my current job five years ago, we had several pets that inadvertantly had the same names as my new coworkers. We had Patrick the gecko (my new boss' name was Patrick), we had Mark the turtle (one of my employees was named Mark), also Tom the cat (another employee turned out to be named Tom), and one of my Newfs was named Max (an employee's son was named Max). It was amusing if a little embarrassing.
But the real kicker was when I took part in the Great Sokol Express. Back then we called him Barry. After the rescue, it turns out he had already been named Sokol so Robyn went with that name.
Interestingly, one of my employee's last names is Sokol. I thought that was a little too much!
As a postscript, when we got Ben two years ago, I had to think long and hard to make sure no one was named Ben at work. Then I met a former coworker for lunch - we get together 2, 3 times a year to catch up - and I told him about my Newf pup, Ben, and he looks at me strangely and said "Did you name him after my son??" LOL Well, it was too late - Ben he was!
Now when we get pets we stop and think hard before naming them!
