Sockeye Salmon Oil promo code

Peter,
I'm going to place an order with vitalchoice, and I see they offer no salt added canned sockeye. But, it doesn't look like it has the skin and bones in it. Should I get the no salt, or the traditional from them, or not bother and stick with supermarket brands like Bumblebee, Faust, and PillarRock?
Thanks.

Sorry nevermind, I just went and looked again. It says it has the skin and bones, just doesn't look like, at all, from the picture.

Peter,
You mentioned that you purchased the capsules instead of the liquid....my understanding is that the liquid version is more potent and less processed. I am in need of replenishing my supply of sockeye salmon oil and was wondering which type I should be purchasing.

Most encapsulated fish oils are processed (distillation, concentration, standardization, etc) but these capsules from Vital Choice are filled with the same unrefined oil that you would get in liquid form. You pay a bit more with the capsules but they make it easier to deliver and give more certainty to the dosing.

Only my oldest girl, Mary, and yours truly are taking the sockeye salmon oil and we seniors prefer the ease of taking the oil in capsules. The rest of the gang get two cans of sockeye salmon daily and thus don't need to take the SSO.

Thanks ever so much for your reply, Peter. Just one more question for you Peter...do you get charged alot of additional duty/taxes when your order arrives?

Don't know yet. Up to now I have been getting my SSO from a local health food store that brought it in from the US especially for me. When I realized that it could be half the cost if I imported it my self, I decided to give it a try.

Expect to have to pay the GST of 5% and an admin charge of $5.00. After July 1st, 2010 the GST will be replaced by HST of 13%.

Newfondly,

Peter

My order of 12 bottles (180 x 1000 mg capsules) arrived today and to my delight, they shipped from BC, Canada instead of WA, USA and there was no duty or other charges whatsoever. Canada shipments go out on Tuesdays and this came to me overnight.

Noticed on the Vital Choice website, since I placed my order, they are only offering one bottle and three bottle prices. To get the 12 bottle price, suggest phoning and asking for a wholesale price. That's what I intend to do for my next order in three months.

That's great Peter that they shipped from BC. I might just have to order some.

I know you also feed canned sockeye salmon. We are doing this right now - but only about half a can a day. I was planning to stop that if we went with the salmon oil. Which do you think is of greater benefit, the 6-12 capsules of oil a day, or the half a can of salmon every day? I am assuming the unrefined oil is the way to go since it has a higher concentration of the omegas. I just can't see us doing both, it will cost a small fortune!
