Sockeye Salmon Oil Capsule Dosage Question

Quick question... I purchased the Sockeye Salmon Oil capsules that were recommended on this site several times by VitalChoice. They're 1000mg each.

I was just wondering how much you guys typically give your newfs & how many times a day? Also how do you administer the capsules (I.e. wrapped in cheese/turkey/etc.)

Dosage recommended for dogs is one 1000 mg capsule per 10 - 20 lbs of body weight per day. Most adult Newfs seem to do well on six capsules per day. This is equivalent to feeding three ounces of sockeye salmon. Exceeding six capsules may result in soft stools and should be phased in.

Some Newfs will eat them out of your hand while others will eat them out of their food bowl along with their regular feed.

They can also be administered like pills which includes inserting in the back of the throat, wrapped in cheese, peanut butter or such. Pill pockets are another option.

Mine think they are candy when thry get the capsules. We normally give them the bottled version.
