Are you snowbound this week? Shut in by the winter weather? Then warm up your hot toddy and jump online to:

http://www.offa.org/surveys/survey_newfoundland.html

and click the "Answer Survey" button

Your Newfoundland does NOT have to be AKC registered
Your Newfoundland does NOT need OFA clearances

Your Newfoundland just has to be a Newfoundland to participate!

We are working hard to gather information on every Newfoundland living since 1995. This may be daunting for those who have been in the breed for a long time and who have had many dogs but please- persevere! Your input will help determine where funding dollars go for the next several years and could impact the overall health of our beloved Gentle Giants - just think- a genetic marker for torn cruciates, or allergies or elbow dysplasia.

Be like Kirsten Tomlinson of Preston, CT. She entered her dogs in the survey and has now won a prize in our Marvelous Monday raffle - all you need to do is submit your dogs information in the survey, then send a quick email to raffle@ncacharities.org - you could win next! She is one of 856 people who have entered 1854 dogs - are your dogs in?

Don't delay- do it today!

I'm waiting until Orka has his X-rays. Was going to do it beginning of month but spent the $$$ on a drysuit so I could walk him and kayak with him no matter the weather. X-rays will cost around $900, including front wrists and all legs just to be sure all the joring I'm planning will be safe.

Not going to breed him, just need to know because of all our activities.

Not going out this morning, very windy with pummeling snow and rain.

Have fun driving here Marylou! :devil3:

I just filled it out for Cooper (had never filled one out before) and it came prepopulated with someone else's answers. Beware when you complete this form that nothing is checked yes or no as "prepopulated" or you may inadvertently skew data.

Leska- given the forecasts I am leaning towards staying home- I was driving down and back just for the day tomorrow which is supposed to be the worst and Tacoma to Portland will be the hardest hit - while I love dog shows, having my 9-12 month girl in the ring is not worth an accident - she'll have lots more time to show as she grows up.

Very wise choice Marylou, was just watching King 5 News, it's as bad down there as here.

I live here and I'm staying home. The problem is all the folks who cannot drive safely in this weather. Their cars slip and spin and chain crash. Youtubes up showing this, bang bang slide boom crash bang bang multiple hits.

Right now there's an official Hurricane Warning up. 2nd time in history. 1st time was in 2007, coastal forests flattened.

70-80" of snow forecast for the Cascades! It's a Snowcane.

Stay safe Marylou. That's a really long back and forth distance for 1 day. She has lots of winnings in her future but tomorrow is not worth the risk.

(Now watch all the forecasts come to naught)
