Any advise on how to get Taver to stop sitting when ever I try to brush/comb/de-mat his rear? Touching his hind end is obviously not something he wants me to do. It currently takes two people to get that end. Surely there is some trick I am missing.
I think there is a waist belt you can purchase, which helps keep the back end up. You might have to buy an extend arm but I'm sure the groomers will chime in with details.
I actually just use a tool box on the table between the front and rear legs and every time he goes to sit there is a box there so he can't and he'll remain standing.
Hmmm, why have I never thought of something like that??? **Note to mind** to remember that next time I'm grooming and need to keep him standing...thanks Kaila
.....you mean I'm the only one who follows the dog around the front yard to brush out their back legs and tail?!? Grooming isn't a contact sport?!? My whole life is a lie!
At least he's just sitting! lol, Mine will lay on the table if I don't use a grooming arm. I use a cardboard box filled with old shipping "peanuts" if I need them to stand. Anything that's the right height will work.
I can't take full credit for this idea.... I saw it at a dog show and thought "that will work!!" Up until that point I just cursed a lot every time Boum was on the grooming table.
