Shaving the belly

Weve decided this summer after previously reading on here to shave Tane's belly to help keep him cool, Was just wondering what length do people shave to (mm's or inch's) and approximatly what total area of the underneath do you shave.... Sorry if this should have gone in the grooming but usually get more responses here..

We used to shave Beaus down to about 5mm mostly around his groin area and a strip up the middle of his belly so that you couldn't see it grom the side but giving him the max area of skin to cold tiled floor

We generally clip to about 1/2 inch... approximately from just behind his front legs all the way to his privates. We just trim underneath leaving a "skirt" of sorts that makes him look pretty normal in a side view. You don't really know his belly's short unless he rolls over and displays it This summer I had him clipped three times. Although it is still warm here now, we're done for the year and letting it start growing in for the winter.
