I MUST also add that without the help of some wonderful volunteers, this weekend would not have been possible! To those who have never volunteered to help at a working event you really should, because THAT is what makes these events happen. It is also a great way to learn more about how to work your own dogs, and make some good friends along the way!

Thank You to all the volunteers!

It was a great weekend. We also had both ends of the age spectrum qualify....

The first dog listed was a 9 MONTH old puppy! And the junior requalifier was a senior citizen! So, no age excuses!

It was fun. And I don't think Lu ever stops!

What an incredible way to spend a weekend...Newfs, water and friends! :D Thanks go out to the "dream team", Susan Kerby, as chair and Annie, as secretary. Great leadership makes a seamless, successful, and rewarding event. Thanks Laura and Roscoe for your hard work and support! BTW Laura was part of a skeleton crew (maybe 2 or 3?) that picked up debris at the site on Friday night, getting it ready for the first test day on Saturday. I heard that they worked until nightfall when the rangers kicked them out of the park. Bravo!

This is my second year stewarding at SCNC's Water test, and Susan is absolutely right. Volunteering for a working event is well worth the effort...an experience you will never forget. It's the perfect venue to make new Newf and people friends. We even had some Newf Netters drop in to say hi! We all finally got to meet Jeannie's Adam. What a handsome boy! Of course Sailor, Cora and Kira provided hands on petting and socializing for all the "OMG...those are the biggest dogs I've ever seen!" visitors. At least 10 people wanted to take Sailor home! Laura's Flower provided the canine cheering section and endless aggravation for Guido, who took it all in stride. Susan's Lu, of course was a star! Watching Lu leap off the boat is truly breathtaking!

All in all, it was an exhausting, exciting, rewarding and unforgettable working dog weekend. Hats off to everyone for a job well done!
