Rash on belly

So mousse has had this rash on and off on her belly.

It's not bothering her, she's not scratching or licking or biting at it.

It's just red. No bumps or anything. It's on her belly area.

I am hypothesizing that it's potentially from being damp when she comes inside and laying down in her crate to sleep.

Vet appointment for a checkup on Wednesday anyway but I figured I'd see if anyone had suggestions?

She's not soaked when she comes in, but she's outside laying in the snow all day so she's a little damp.

Could this also be from laying on the cold snow?

Again, she shows no signs of discomfort or anything *shrug*

I had that several times. One time my vet thought it had a fungul component and had me use "OTC" Lotrimin. I find just keeping the area clean works the best when Snuffles gets that.

Roo had rash about 2 weeks ago and we posted here. The overwhelming advise was to use gold bond power. We did and within 2 days rash was gone. Thank you to all the Newfie masters.

No advice, but I'm glad to see you on here! I've been thinking about you since Miley passed. How's Milo doing? I think we're long overdue for pictures - Mousse must be huge by now!

You might try baby wipes. As for applying something and keeping her from licking- I apply then distract with treats, training or playtime. Then she forgets about it.

use powder, not cream. sounds like it's just a bit of a diaper rash from being damp. the powder will help pull out the moisture and calm the skin so she'll feel better and heal up. If she's having issues like that right now, I'd strongly recommend getting a dryer and getting her good and dry at the end of the day or before she spends a fair bit of time in her kennel....and once summer is her after she's been swimming. catching it early is great, but preventing it is better. it doesn't take much for it to go from that sort of a rash to a hot spot, so trying (yes trying, it's not always easy) to keep her drier would help.

Thanks guys. I'll pick some stuff up tonight. :)

I have the great task of grooming both of them today so I'll post some photos once they're done :)

Milo is doing ok. I think he was having a lot of trouble after Miley passed. He started getting aggressive with the food and water bowl and treats with the other dogs. He gave me quite a scare when he snapped at my 4 lb dog. He wound up slobbering her, I don't think he even showed teeth, just a growl and a swift move towards her.

That was a couple weeks after miley passed. He's better now, acting much better, no more arguing between the dogs, etc.

We all miss her dearly though :(
