It appears we are having a population explosion of wild rabbits in our area. They also appear to be dropping by for a late night munch on our lawn. They leave beind small piles of output that resemble chocolate bits. Must take like chocolate to Sammy and Di because they go crazy sucking them up.

Should I care?

Yes, you should care, they can get all kinds of internal parasites from eating feces of any animal, especially wild animals. You might want to take a stool sample into your vet. to check for worms.

I know all about 'rabbit candy'. My puppy goes insane when he finds some. I had to make sure he was on his leash everytime we went into our back woods because he would just spend the whole time searching out the little poops. Gross.

I have a pet rabbit and taught Ebony right away to leave that stuff alone...but deer droppings...whole 'nother story!!

Yup, with both ducks and geese running around here their droppings are a delicacy for Eb. YUCK!! She gets a good firm "NO, DROP IT" whenever I catch her. She is very good about it though and for the most part leaves it alone and when told to drop it she lets it go right away.

Good Luck, we have wild rabbits and deer in our back yard as well. Mr Hoover Loves them and seems to be no way of deterring him from snuffling them up.

Horse poop is high on the list of all my dogs! Try keeping them from eating it when you have 3 horses and a donkey!

Oh, YUCK. However, we have wild rabbits galore and Moonlight spends every morning looking for poop. In the summer it hides in the grass, but now she can find it. Sorry, I'm not going out at 7:00 to pick up rabbit poop. None of the girls have ever gotten sick that I know of, but it's not a good thing.
