Questions.....regarding conformation

So, I think I might like to try and show Turner, but I know absolutely NOTHING about it. I was wondering if there are any good books/references/videos that I could get that might help me?

There was a free clinic from a local dog club that I went to last night...and the judges helped me somewhat, but I need more info.

is there a regional club in your state or near your state?
that would be a good place, or an all breed kennel club.

Local all breed clubs and conformation classes are a great start for getting the feel of the ring.

However, if you are looking for a good "how to" that answers many of the other aspects of showing, ie: how to enter shows, reading and understanding a premium, reading judging programs, filling out entry forms, counting points, what to do when you get to a show site, etc. I have a great book for the beginner: Raising a Champion: A Beginners Guide to Showing Dogs by A. Meredith John and Carole L. Richards. It is very easy to read and understand. I'm not sure if any online bookstores carry it, but if you go to www.thewelltraineddog.com you can order it from there. Good Luck!

Your breeder is the best source of information and guidance with this especially since you will need a full registration to show. Only your breeder can give you that. There should be conformation classes in your area. They frequently are given at dog training schools so you can inquire there.
