Put-in-Bay, Ohio get together

It's soon time for another get together. Gina is organizing another Newf get together at Put-in-Bay on June 13-15th. The Put-in-Bay visit is Sat. and she's organizing a Newf Luau on the resort's private beach on Lake Erie to include a tiki bar, Newf swimming, and a bon fire. The resort staff went out of their way to accomodate us. They even provided showers for the dogs after their beach swim.
If you are interested, just go to her facebook page she started for the event where you can check out all the info. It is an open group. I went last year and it was a blast. Our Newfs were with us for everything we did including the beach restaurant, golf cart rides, tram rides, and the ferry which took us from the mainland to the two islands. At least just check it out, because the more the merrier!

Is this going to be during Pirate Week again Stacey? I wasn't able to attend last year, and although I seem to be bleeding money right now, I'd like to try and go this year, but I'm worried about the booming cannons.

NO!! It is absolutely not during Pirate Week - Gina has promised over and over again.

Also, the actual island trip is just one day - on Sunday - and that's where the cannons were. On Saturday we stay at the resort and there's a huge luau planned. Last year we did not do the island trip and just met everyone back at the resort for dinner. We probably will skip the island trip again this year too. Elvis has never been on a boat and we know our boy needs his several naps a day so an all day island excurtion just isn't the best day for him.

We're still not sure if we can make it or not, but the Resort has a great cancellation policy so we'll probably go on and book our room just in case.

It really sounds like fun; but I was worried about the cannons. Maggie and Elvis could just sleep all weekend; she naps to get ready for a nap.

How is the heat? THAT is really my biggest concern.

Heat was not a concern. There was always a cool breeze since we were on Lake Erie. It was definately cooler than SE PA at that time. It was the last weekend of June last year, but it will be earlier this year. There's never a time that you can't let them in the lake if you want.

Am working on it. Seems like the bipeds in our family are busy; daughters going to Scotland, Ellen's going to a knitting conference. Might be just be Lewis, Token, and me. Token did not like the cannons; we did the boat ride and other than cannons it was fine...not hot.

It appears the Luau is in jeopardy of being cancelled if Gina can't get enough to rsvp. The resort wants definitive numbers and $ to reserve the beach and DJ. We'll see...
