Puppy Woes

Puppy kindergarten begins tomorrow and I simply can't wait! Koko will be ahead of the game because she already knows her name and how to sit. Problem is she is a jumper, biter, and a thief! I know I can't compare one dog to another, but I am not sure how to correct her poor behavior. She is not really "biting" but more mouthing, and I get that. How do I control the jumping up on us, the tables, and the counters. We say "off" and try to distract, but it is like she has springs in her legs! She has tons of toys that we play with, but EVERYTHING is a toy for her! Help!

He's very good. there is also a site that worked very well with all my newfs, even the litter was trained before they went to thier new homes. www.clickerlessons.com
But as we all know, any training is only as good as the owner shows consistancy:)

The trick when they do this is to give them something else to do that is more rewarding. IF she gets any attention when she acts like this then that is attention, good or bad she is getting what she wants. It takes patience but ignoring bad behaviors and then showing and rewarding what you want her to do works wonders. Trouble is many don't have the patience to wait it out. I'm sure your class will help greatly and it will be enjoybale to talk to other owners who may be going through the same:)
