Puppies ;0)........

this breeding thang is tuff, there were 7 pups, i noticed yesterday they were quiet inside morgan, last night they dropped down, and when i was sleeping morgan went into the puppy room to sleep, that is not normal, that meant something was not right, she had been in her box on and off yesterday and ripped at a blankee a few times during the day and early evening..
so......
i went in this morning and was thankful that we did early, if the vet didnt call me, i was gonna call her.(first due date was tuesday the 4th)
i told her i think something aint right, so we did the csection, wich i was sposed to be in assisting and they said we will come and get you when we are ready, well they never came to get me, and the clinic was dead silence, find out, that we may loose two pups, five are ok, morgan is at the vet and fine, and the five are in the incubater and stable, but two stop breathing every once in a while.
she said stay positive go home, we will work on them, morgan is fantastic dont worry about her she is getting fluids.
that is all the details i can share with you.
i hope that when she calls everyone will be fine, dont worry morgan is in fantastic hands and her best interests are at heart.
thanx for the well wishes. i appreciate them,
i only pray that the next 24 hours they will thrive.
i think about karens nightmare and wonder how people get thru something like that.
P.S.
dont know the sex of anyone yet, so will let you know who won the contest later today!

Oh, Sar, I am praying as hard as I can for your pups. My breeder just lost a litter of 2 because her vet didn't believe her when she said something is going wrong here. by the time they got to the vet, it was too late. I so pray they will make it. This has been a very sad time, this January. My own grandson was stillborn on the 6th and it feels like there is nothing but bad news ever since. I guess when I hear about puppies being born it comforts me a bit. SO please know you're in my thoughts.with love and prayers,
Anne

I'm so sorry two of the pups are struggling.
I'm glad Morgan and the others are OK. Morgan's lucky to have a Mom who trusts her instincts.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the new little ones when they get home.

Sar, it is a blessing you woke up when you did and you were able to get Morgan to the vet. hurray for the 5 that are doing well and prayers for the 2 that are having a rough go of it. I dont think I could be a doggy grandparent... it just sound too emotional.
I will pray for Morgan's quick recovery, the health of all the puppies and for your heart wich must be very heavy with worry at the moment.

I agree, I couldn't be a doggy grandma. :( My prayers are with the 2, and glad to hear mom and the others are good.
I am also so sorry for your loss Anne.

ok guys keep those prayers coming, the latest update an hour ago, 2 died for sure, 2 most likely wont make it, 2 are questionable, and 1 male is veryvery very naughty and fiesty.

i appreciate it very much, but putting things in perspective, i am surprised that she carried this litter, the uterus was thin and they were not attached strong, so for this boy even to make it, even if he is the singleton is a miracle!
Anne
i am so sorry, i skimmed quick over the posts, as i was getting phone calls in as i was typing, my heart goes out to you! i am so sorry.

My work is with premature babies, ill term babies, and assisting at the births of at risk babies. This is in the neonatal unit of a large metropolitan hospital.

My work puts me in contact with families that have gone through what in a way both of you are living.

Anne,I am very sorry for your and your families loss. There is nothing more devastating as the loss of a child.

Sar, I am with you as you wait for the outcome of the remaining puppies.

ok guys, this is not good but it could be worse.
we have one boy pup and mom is ok, she gave us a scare and started bleeding so doc reopened her and she is fine now, that is when all of this hit me and i cried, i called codes and a friend who is a breeder near me, and also the stud dog owner.
i am so sorry for the lost lives, but also am thankful for the life i have been trusted with.
the boy is sold to a couple in town here.
he will be a spoiled singleton pup.
thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers, i will truly be indebted to you all.
i will be picking mom and pup up at 5:30 this afternoon.

Anne-I am very sorry for your loss. You're in our thoughts.

Sar-I am very happy to hear that Morgan is doing ok and will be coming home soon. I am praying that boy will thrive and will have a wonderful life. Please keep us posted.

Anne, like all the others here, I am sorry for your loss. And Sar, I am sorry for the loss of your pups, and my prayers are certainly with Morgan and her new pup.

You will be in my thoughts as well. I know the pup and his mommy are in the best possible hands because you are a very caring newf mom. And it was very thoughtful to have posted in the midst of the worries you were going through. Don't forget to look after yourself as well!

How tragic for all.
I'm so glad the little boy is going to make it. And very glad the momma is alright.
This pretty much proves to me that I could never do this. It's too heartwrenching.
