Prayers and thoughts appreciated

We think Malka tore her CCL. :( Rachel and I were out in the yard with all of the newfies, but neither one of us were looking at her when it happened. She was in the middle of the yard and none of the other dogs were near her. She let out a high-pitched yelp, (which I heard over our dog dryer), and suddenly wasn't putting any weight on her back left leg. We think she slipped in the mud.

We have already gone through two blown knees with Jorah and this is eerily similar. We plan on calling the vet in the morning, but in the meantime we are putting ice on it and keeping her quiet.

We are really, really, hoping it is not torn. She is our most athletic girl and we were hoping to try an agility class with her later this spring. Sigh. :( Any thoughts and prayers would be wonderful!
(She's five years old.)

Maybe she stepped on something, did you check her paw pads? Does the leg bone look like it sliding? Some vets can do a sliding drawer test to see if there is a possible tear. I will be thinking positive thoughts for you and hope it's nothing serious.

We did check her pads, but didn't see anything. I remember with Jorah that our vet showed us the sliding drawer test, but I haven't been able to tell with Malka, she has a lot of extra shaggy hair at the moment. :) I am hoping it isn't anything serious, it's just so similar to Jorah. Hopefully we will have an answer tomorrow.

We have an appointment for 2pm today. Malka was very restless last night, moving to different sleeping spots. She is still putting little to no weight on her leg today.

So... she tore it. :( After talking with out vet, we think she partially tore it a few months ago, which would explain an off and on again limp she has been having. Now my sister and I need to decide what course of treatment to pursue.

Hugs,we are going through this with a hyper newf girl.

Got a large pen for her and it's two weeks now after surgery and trying to keep her quiet and steady is really hard though we are trying to stimulate her mind atm
