Hi all,
Just had to let you know that my sister and I now have our second Newf. I had puppy fever so bad and am so smittem with Isabella that I called her breeder to see when puppies might be available again. Long story short, the breeder was willing to sell Isabella's mom while keeping one of her Landseer puppies.
I have to confess I thought I had bought Isabella from a reputable breeder and she may have been trying to be. It turns out Kayla is 2 years old and has had 2 litters already. The second breeding was accidental but still, she was a baby when she had Isabella. The owner thinks she has mastitis. I will find out Monday when I take Kayla to the vet.
Kayla is a beautiful Landseer. She is quite submissive and shy at the moment. She and Isabella don't remember each other. Isabella keeps barking at her mom.
I got her Wednesday evening. That has been the only night I have missed grad class other than beeing sick in a year and 1/2.
Kayla isn't quite sure about being inside. She is hanging out in the sunroom and the dining room and will come to the living room if we are in there. She will shyly come up for pets. She wants to play with the other dogs but isn't quite sure about them yet.
She is so skinny and has blown most of her coat. Isabella's fur is 3X as thick. Kayla has a beautiful head and markings. I think she may have great newf floof, but it looks like it has been chopped off. Isabella has great floof, to the point her nickname is Ziggy Stardust. My sister started calling her that when I said she had David Bowie hair.
I have wanted a Newf for forever. Isabella completely stole my heart. I want to share that love withher mom. I will keep you posted on how it goes with Ziggy and Kayla.

Thank you for taking Kayla. She sounds like she needs a lot of love & affection to feel secure, plus a lot of food and vitamins added.
The breeder... Well... Um... Never mind.

I'm so glad Kayla has found you. It doesn't sound like she has had an easy time. Glory came to me as an adult and it took her awhile to adjust but she is just a joy and is a very happy girl.
