Yay Willis!! Keep up the good work! Millie didn't do adequin shots but she continues with her PT and acupuncture when I see she is a little stiff or sore. We love it!

We did Adequan before Zuzu's surgeries. Adequan has been off the market for a while but when it comes back we may try it again. Insurance covers the shots if given by the vet but not if the vet sells me the vial and syringes.

Good to hear he's doing well!

The saga continues...spoke with the surgeon, rehab and regular vet this week. No one is happy with his progress. Surgeon said he's in uncharted territory as he's never seen a dog doing this poorly with no explanation before. There is no indication of infection on X-ray or physical exam, but he just doesn't want to put weight on it, so i think the conclusion is now the "superficial" infection he had must have reached the plate. We are going in on the 17th to X-ray again to make sure he is completely healed and then likely go in to remove the plate the following day. We are requesting all of the good energy and prayers you can send to help get Willis through this mess.

oooooh Willis!! I'm so sorry you're still dealing with this. I hope you get some answers soon, but by now it does sound like removing the plate may be the best option.

OMG Paige, I'm so sorry your going through this. You know your Willis is implanted in my heart since you posted that puppy picture when I was feeling so blue. He'll always remain in my prayers. I had a conversation with a vet student from Penn U at a friends 50th and that came about after I noticed the TPLO equipment as his keychain, which led to such great/interesting converstation about his first stand in surgery, which was the removal of the TPLO equipment. It was a German Shepherd and the dog did so wonderfully after that, so hopefully that's the issue and the end of your on-going nightmare! And I'd also ask for the equipment back since you've paid for it and it is forever Willis! (I know probably stupid, but that's just me) Also keeping you in my prayers

Not stupid at all, Dawn. If they do remove the plate, and I think they have to, it's just a matter of when now, I will make something good out of the hardware. Like lemons out of lemonade! Everyone's good thoughts are so very appreciated.
